Hope your knee feels better soon but maybe it’s time to see a doctor!

I wish I could do this but consistency and what to write about is a problem.

I understand that. I have some hints coming up in this weeks Take Pen to Paper. I devoted the month to gratitude. I'll be writing more in this newsletter, too.

I started off by having a reminder in the to-do list app I have on my phone. I wouldn't always do it on time, but I'd always make sure to catch up if I fell behind. I usually journal before bed, sometimes during reading time for our older child.

It has certainly gotten easier to keep the habit over time, probably because I've developed something like a "journaling voice", and writing is easier and even fun. It is also one of the things that keeps me anchored - I have 2 young children, a job and house that keep me busy, and social and personal pursuits to keep up with, and it's easy to get swept away by it all. Journaling gives me a moment to take stock and remind myself of what I've been doing and where I'm going. I start to feel adrift if I don't do it after several days.

I relate to the how journaling can be an anchor that keeps me from becoming adrift in life's events.

I have not considered whether I have a journaling voice. I'll give that some thought!
